Cosplayer Interview

Q. How long have you been cosplaying?

Including my career gap, it’s been about 10 years.

Q. Was there any reason for cosplaying this character?

Among the Dr. STONE characters, Kirisame’s my absolute favorite so I absolutely wanted to cosplay her! That was my thought process!

Q. How many times have you cosplayed as this character?

Twice in the studio.

Q. When doing this cosplay, what aspect of expression do you pay attention to?

Since she’s a serious battle character, I made sure to be aware of her mercilessness during battles and avoid overly sexy outfits.

Q. How was the cosplay costume made this time?

This was given to me by the costume creator. Balancing exposure measures and the silhouette of the body were the hardest parts.

Q. If there are any points you were particular about regarding costumes, makeup, or props, please tell us.

Dr. STONE has a distinctive art style, so I applied makeup to make my eyes stand out.

Q. Is there anything you’re mindful of when posing?

I carefully consider the silhouette even on the fingertips. Depending on the composition used, I adjust the amount of information on the screen to increase or decrease with each shot.

Q. If you have any particular points for finishing cosplay pieces, please tell us.

I want to cherish the colors and compositions the photographer captures. I only handle fine misalignments in wigs, large wrinkles on clothes, and the color of my skin and eyes.

Q. When was the moment you felt glad to cosplay this character?

It’s when someone who likes the same work tells me it’s “wonderful.” That’s especially delightful.

Q. What does cosplay mean to you?

It’s one way to express what you love.

Q. What motivates you to keep cosplaying?

When I look back at the photos I had taken, I remember the fun of cosplaying. That’s why I enjoy it…!

There are many challenges, but it’s really fun when you give it your all and cosplay.
